| Notes | This boat is built with a rare technique of epoxy sandwiched ferro cement and balsa that was developed in New Zealand. The Balsa mold gives it its consistant and smooth form. Over this is the steel and cement. This and the balsa are then layered with fiberglass and epoxy. The hull can be seen from inside, under the bed and the area we saw was looking clean and solid. The owner has been in violent weather and the boat has remained water tight. There is no evidence of seepage. Many people hear cement hull and run as the seller almost did when offered the boat years ago. However, the actual technique caused him to reconsider and he has been very satisfied with the quality of the boat. Her full-belly lines accommodate extra space in the interior. |
